Makeup brushes- an essential tool for beautifying yourself. Whether you need to set your face makeup with powder or you need to bronze up your face to add some dimension or you need to blend out your eyeshadow to make your beautiful eyes pop, brushes are the tool needed just for that. Now there are tons of makeup brushes out on the market which makes the task of finding good quality brushes a bit difficult.

Here is the gorgeous and lovely Audrey Hepburn using a lip liner brush to define her lips.

To begin with, there are different routes to good quality brushes you can take. There is the luxury route if you want to self-indulge in some extravagant upscale makeup brushes. Then there is the on the budget route where you need makeup brushes but also are on a financial restriction or simply enough because spending excessive amounts of money on makeup brushes does not seem logical or reasonable.

A makeup brush is tested for softness, durability, and grip. It is something you covet and use on the daily so I believe you should look for and buy good quality brushes that will last long, not shed, and has a comfortable handle. Recently I read this great article that did all the research and makes the process of finding good quality makeup brushes so much easier. Also, with the holiday season here, makeup brushes are a great present to give to the special women in your life such as your mother, sister, daughter, niece, sister-in-law, etc.

For the best in the luxury route, it found the winner to be Tom Ford brushes.
If you want the luxury but do not want to spend as much as you would on Tom Ford brushes the next option would be Bobbi Brown.

For the best in the on the budget route, the winner is Sonia Kashuk brushes. Now I can honestly attest to this as I have Sonia Kashuk brushes. Sonia Kashuk brushes are amazing for their price and are great for gifting since there are always many gift set variations. I specifically love the angled multipurpose brush (no 17) to apply my bronzer.

The winner overall is Sephora brushes.

I'm ending this with some words from Miss Audrey Hepburn, "on a bad day there is always lipstick," but "beauty is being the best version of yourself, inside and out."
